Nitzia “Smith”

Nitzia “Smith” is a survivor, advocate, and entrepreneur committed to empowering others through education, awareness, and lived experience. She is passionate about supporting survivors, advancing systems change, and creating spaces where healing and resilience can thrive.

Alia Azariah

Alia Azariah is a nationally recognized expert in human trafficking, the commercial sexual exploitation of children, survivor aftercare, and trauma-informed systems change. A survivor herself, she brings both lived experience and professional expertise to shaping survivor-centered services, training, and policy. She serves as Director of Collective Impact at Safe House Project, where she leads national efforts to strengthen standards of care and expand effective services for survivors. Alia has trained more than 250,000 professionals nationwide and has advised public systems, service providers, and multidisciplinary leaders on best practices in care and response. Her work has included speaking at the U.S. Capitol, testifying before the UK Parliament, and serving as an expert witness in trafficking-related cases. In 2025, she was selected for the Obama Leaders USA Program’s 2025–26 cohort, recognizing her as a national leader driving innovative social change.

Ashley Faison-Maddox

Ashley Faison-Maddox is the Legislative Advocacy Lead for the Sacramento Region with California Survivor Coalition and has been recognized as the 2026 Woman of the Year for the 7th Assembly District. As the Founder and Acting Executive Director of Diamond Collective, she curates monthly restorative experiences that empower women who have been trafficked to rediscover confidence, community, and connection.

 

She serves as a Commissioner on the Sacramento County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls and is the Regional Engagement Specialist for the West Coast at the Sex Trade Survivor Caucus, where her voice shapes survivor-centered policies at the state level.

 

As a member of the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force and Subject Matter Expert in Human Trafficking with the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST), Ashley consults with law enforcement across California, equipping officers with trauma-informed tools to better recognize and respond to trafficking. Her work is deeply personal and anchored in a vision for lasting change.

Hollie Nadel

Hollie Nadel is a business owner and survivor-leader in the anti-trafficking movement with expertise in operations, human resources, policy, public speaking, and anti–money laundering. Her work is rooted in lived experience and focuses on advancing survivor-centered, bipartisan protections and justice through cross-sector collaboration.

 

She has spoken for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, congressional briefings, the Virginia Attorney General’s Office, and the National Governors Association. A 2025 Pembrook Fellow, Hollie partnered with the Human Trafficking Legal Center to expand survivor leadership initiatives. She holds an ACAMS (Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists) certification and continues to advance bipartisan, and survivor-centered anti-trafficking policy in her current role as Director of Advocacy and Engagement at 3Strands Global Foundation.
