Bills & Advocacy
We bring lived experience and professional expertise directly to the Capitol. Explore the bills we’re championing to prevent exploitation, protect survivors, and transform California’s anti-trafficking response.
Assembly Bills
A proposed law that starts in the Assembly. The Assembly is the "lower house" (in some state governments or at the federal level, this is called the House of Representatives). Assembly Members serve shorter terms (2 years) and represent smaller, more localized districts.
Senate Bills
A proposed law that starts in the Senate. The Senate is the "upper house." Senators usually serve longer terms (4 years) and represent larger geographic areas with larger populations. Because the Senate is smaller, each senator carries significant individual influence.
