Her Story

Marjorie Saylor is a modern-day abolitionist, survivor of trafficking, and nationally recognized advocate for victims of exploitation. For over a decade, she has worked to prevent trafficking, support survivors, and advance survivor-informed policy reform.


In 2014, Marjorie began with Runaway Girl Inc. and Sowers Education Group. In 2017 she founded The Well Path, a nationwide emergency response program serving survivors of trafficking, while serving as Program Director of Alabaster Jar Project’s long-term shelter and drop-in resource


center until 2023, when she became the Director of Human Trafficking Services and Awareness at One Safe Place.. Locally she serves as Board President of the Survivor Leader Network of San Diego and sits on the Survivor Voice Sector of the San Diego County Human Trafficking and CSEC Advisory Council. Marjorie additionally serves on the Survivor Advisory Board of 3Strands Global Foundation, consults on policy with Rights4Girls out of DC, is a member of SPACE International, and is the acting President of the CA Survivor Coalition which empowers state policy with lived experience. She speaks internationally and just published her first research brief fall of 2025 which highlights how policy addresses human trafficking demand. She has recently been honored with a “Marjorie Saylor Day” proclamation by San Diego County Board of Supervisors 2023 and “Woman of the Year” honoree award by Assemblymember Laurie Davies 2026.
